Ömer Özgül, an Anatolian Arts Consultant, curator, and master calligrapher, is dedicated to preserving and elevating the discipline of classical Islamic arts. In honor of his birthplace, Uşak, he signs his works with the pseudonym "Uşşakî," meaning "the land of lovers".

Following his graduation from Ankara University's Faculty of Educational Sciences, Özgül devoted himself entirely to traditional arts. Trained in the centuries-old 'meşk' (master-apprentice) tradition under the guidance of calligrapher Mahmut Şahin, he earned his formal icazet (authorization) and specializes in classical scripts, particularly Thuluth (Sülüs), Naskh (Nesih), Ruqʿah (Rik'a), and Ta'liq (Ta'lik).

Recognized as a "Bearer of Intangible Cultural Heritage" by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, he actively initiates projects to promote classical arts globally. Through the establishment of the Denizli Bin Art Center in 2021 and his ongoing educational programs, he passes down this deep-rooted heritage to new generations.

Beyond the pen and ink, Özgül brings profound spatial awareness to the exhibition of traditional arts. Having conducted extensive museology research across Europe, the UAE, and Qatar, he co-pioneered the establishment of six museums in Turkiye. His curatorial philosophy favors precise historical balance and architectural harmony—often drawing inspiration from early Islamic and Umayyad periods—ensuring that artworks are displayed with measured elegance rather than overwhelming ornamentation.

Today, Hattat Uşşakî’s award-winning monumental inscriptions, boutique calligraphy panels, and custom spatial designs continue to adorn numerous mosques, museums, and private collections both in Turkiye and abroad.
